Third Week Of The Year

Hello, friends! I finally figured out the dates on this thing, I think, and have sorted everything correctly. We head back from our examination of the Tumbaghar to talk about the city proper.

This week, I wanted to talk about how the modular platforms of Atasiar are connected, as well as certain decisions the residents  made once it became clear that they were joined together for the long haul. The main thing here is the introduction of the Sea Wardens, Atasiar's version of the military. But even before we get to those guys, I wanted to at least mention the magic system/users of my setting. You'll find this first mention of Ems in Entry 19:

Electromagnetic Sensitives are this setting's equivalent of mages. They have the ability to sense the electromagnetic circuits present in nature and manipulate them to their own purposes. One such (wasteful) purpose is described above; more will come in subsequent weeks. For the foreseeable future, tho, I really want to go over the Sea Wardens, who are basically Atasiar's Coast Guard, in so far as a floating city can even have a coast.

It amused me to set up the Sea Warden's auxiliary posts as essentially boats, but since each is assigned to a district (as the modules of the Floating City are called,) they're tethered at least in function to a specific area. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me. I also didn't draw the sails because that aspect of ship illustration baffles me still. I might try my hand at it next week, but no promises.
